Join us and meet the Municipality of Caicedo which is deeply committed to exerting the maximum efforts to spearhead an exemplary reconciliation process aimed at putting an end to violence that opens the paths of Nonviolence and Peace.
Satoyama for Peace: Ecosystems for Peace and Reconciliation (S4P:EPR) at the Jena Center for Reconciliation Studies (JCRS) has been working with the Municipality of Caicedo and the Dublín City University (DCU) as an international host to launch the second international summit on nonviolence. The summit will present the remarkable 21-year journey of Caicedo, the first nonviolent municipality in Colombia. Notable dialogues with Colombian and international peacemakers will feature the transformative power of forgiveness, reconciliation, and nonviolence. Dr. Laura Villanueva, who participates in organizing the summit for the JCRS, has invited two peacemakers that are especially dear to her heart: Nelson Mandela's Great-Grandson and a Palestinian leader from Bethlehem.
